Aims and Objectives:
- To impart clear idea about the history & cultural prideness of Bangladesh agriculture & bright feelings of the National agri–heritage.
- Demonstration of extinct or nearly extinct agricultural implements, their sample collection, preparation of model, preservation and added information for making informative, academic and research oriented.
- Demonstration of agril. heritage & overall change in agril. practices could be displayed for the teachers, students, researchers & the field extension officers.
- Collection, preservation and analytical demonstration of various latest progress about agricultural technologies throughout the world.
- Arrangement of demonstration for the interested agril. field officers and the farmer; preservation, displaying and scientific demonstration of Museum visuals.
- Co-operation and assistance for Museum related information with other in-country & abroad Museums. Ultimately, the authority has a plan to make it a live Museum of various extinct plant & crop species.
Definition:
Museum means “Agricultural Museum’’ of Bangladesh Agricultural University where collection,
preservation & demonstration arrangement would be made available regarding used primitive
agricultural implements relating to materials & practices, specifically agricultural crops, forest,
livestock, fisheries resources, agril. engineering, food engineering and agril. economics of Bangladesh.
Location:
Agricultural Museum has 5 (Five) acres of land attached to the building’s south & south-western side.
Future Planning:
There is a plan to establish 64 District Rupashi Gram-Bangla lost and extinct real scenery, agriculture
and farmer lifestyle in the Museum. In future, the Museum site could be developed by planting rare
plant species, plantation of medicinal plants, their management, conservation & arrangements for
demonstration. Also planting, conservation & arrangement for demonstration could be done for the
extinct crop species.
